
STRENGTH AND MOBILITY FOR THE CURIOUS MOVER.
I do yoga, strength training, HIIT workouts, etc. and while I've always tried to take care of my body, I still dealt with chronic knee and back pain. After just 10 weeks with Nicki, I initially saw so much progress. We've been working together online for over a year now - my back & knee have felt the best they've felt in a very long time, and my body in general feels so much stronger when I'm doing yoga or working out. My main goal outside of finding relief for the pain I had been dealing with, was to create a body that will hold up in old age. And with Nicki and our mobility training, I will accomplish that and more!
I've practiced every single class in the library! It provides an incredible variety of classes- difficult to easy, more strength focused vs. mobility vs. general movement, short and long. Nicki's cuing is perfect- it's really easy to move between poses and know exactly where you are going. She always provides a range of variants to step poses up or down. On days when I'm feeling sluggish, a class is a perfect pick me up, and on days when I'm ready to go, the classes are always a fun challenge. Nicki's sequencing is creative and clever- I'm never bored, never looking at the clock, and just thinking about how to move my body. The library has so many classes, it's an incredible value!
I'm pretty excited for the flow videos! In my opinion, nothing is better for BJJ conditioning. BJJ players get plenty of high intensity output in our training. If athletes aren't doing some form of steady-state work in their training off the mats, they're leaving a lot of potential on the table. All BJJ players can use more thoracic extension and shoulder rotation work (like your shoulder video) in their lives! My internal rotation sucks, and I think this is exactly what it needs.
All this prehab is great for my knees, elbows and wrists. I felt so well-rounded on the tennis court, even though I hadn't played in forever. Like I just had strength protecting me all over.
It's crazy how much all the mobility you've taught me so far has coincided with the movements I'm learning and our warm-ups. I'm really looking forward to learning new skills and being sore in funky places! It's going to be fun, and I've got the best coach around (you!). Everyone in my class was very impressed with the deep squat I can do, and I thought "Nicki would be so proud, my hips are so low AND my heels are on the floor!" Most people could use this mobility training in their lives!
I've been working one-on-one with Nicki for SEVEN years straight! She's INCREDIBLE! She provides customized sessions, with recommendations for activities to work into the rest of my week. I've made so much progress through our sessions on both mobility and my journey to a free-standing handstand. Our sessions push me when I need it and provide regular motivation to keep working towards my movement goals. Nicki is also a fun and easy partner to work with. She's friendly and fun but still gets down to business! I'm excited to keep working with her for the long run!

Hi! Thank you so much for being here. Solar Movement Space is an intangible space that spans across the globe, made up of strong curious movers of all kinds. We work to create space in our bodies, with our breath, in hopes that the movement we practice supports our lives, is sustainable, creative and enjoyable!
I am a yoga teacher, a mobility specialist, a handstand coach, and a certified personal trainer with over 13 years of experience teaching groups and coaching individuals toward their movement goals.
